    What happens when fiber internet comes to town?

    As we expand our fiber-optic network to more locations in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana, keep an eye out for our ambassadors and informational materials.

     

    When we’re getting ready to build in a new area, we’ll send ambassadors door to door to introduce our service and help your home get equipped with a fiber-optic connection. (You don’t need to sign up for service at this time, but you’ll be on the list when service launches. ) You may also receive a doorhanger or a letter with more information.

     

    As we get closer to construction you will start to see signs, utility markings and our trucks.

    How long does fiber construction typically take?

    The timeline for neighborhood-wide deployment varies based on project complexity. In general, it can take several months to over a year to complete all phases of construction.

     
    What happens during the home installation process?

    Once fiber service becomes available in your area and you sign up, a technician will:

    • Run a fiber-optic line from the nearest network hub to your home.
    • Install a fiber terminal (ONT) and connect it to a WiFi router.
    • Test the system to ensure everything works properly and you’re getting the speed requested.

    Shortly before construction begins, our ambassadors will stop by homes to introduce Ziply Fiber and answer questions. A couple of days before beginning, construction crews will place more door hangers to let you know that Ziply Fiber’s network will be in the area soon.

    As construction wraps up, Ziply Fiber will notify residents through mailers about when fiber internet will be available. Sales representatives may also go door to door to assist with signup.
