Whether you're moving apartments or you're buying a new home, the process of packing and cleaning and planning is a hassle, to say the least.
We try to make it easy for you to switch or sign up for internet. We recommend updating your address and alerting utilities to your move three to four weeks prior to the move. Schedule your installation appointment as soon as possible to move-in so you're not without service for too long.
Here's what you need to know about moving with Ziply Fiber:
- Check your new address to see if our service is available at your new place. Even if it wasn't available in that area in the past, check again as we are rapidly building and connecting new neighborhoods.
- If service is available and you want to transfer your service, call us to schedule installation at 1.866.MYZIPLY for a day and time you'll be available, ideally right after moving in. Be sure to have your account number ready. Find your account number on your bill, or locate it in the Ziply Fiber app.
- If you don't have Ziply Fiber service already and want to establish new service, follow the same steps—but be sure to cancel with your current provider and ensure there is no red tape, like early cancellation fees.
- You don't need to cancel your service when you transfer—your account won't change, just your address.
- You'll need to be at your new place when we schedule installation. All installation appointments require someone over the age of 18 to be there.
- Hang on to your equipment. Your technician will either use it or replace it with newer devices. The technician can take any old equipment after the installation appointment. - And finally, transferring your fiber internet service doesn't incur any additional charges. However, you may want to take the opportunity to upgrade your service. Learn more about our plans here.
