Keizer, OR now has access to America’s fastest home internet.

On July 19th, Keizer officially welcomed Ziply Fiber service at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Around 50 people came out to RecLanes bowling alley to celebrate the availability of fiber-optic internet service. Mayor Cathy Clark, city council members and members of the Willamette Valley Jaguars joined the celebration, which took place during a Keizer Chamber of Commerce weekly networking event.

“Our Keizer ribbon-cutting was more than celebrating a new location,” said Community Development Manager Kevin Guillen. “It was about celebrating the partnerships that make a community stronger.”

The presence of the Jaguars, a local professional basketball team, was a highlight.

“The Jaguars have a phrase, ‘from the jump,’” Kevin said, referring to the idea of the team working together authentically from the moment of tip-off. That synergy between Ziply Fiber and the city of Keizer was noticeable and present at the event. During the speeches, “Everyone said ‘from the jump’ at the same time,” he noted.

Keizer, OR now has fiber-optic internet for homes and businesses from Ziply Fiber.

Kevin presented Mayor Clark with Fastest City Certification, a designation indicating that the residents of Keizer have access to the fastest home internet in the country—up to 50 Gig speeds. With about 1,500 homes ready for service and more than 9,000 to come, Keizer is on the way to becoming a leader in fiber-optic internet connectivity in Oregon.

This means a lot for local business, too. The speed and reliability of fiber internet can boost economic growth and attract new businesses to the area.

"Now, with lightning speed through Ziply Fiber, Keizer business transactions will help make us more competitive, and with lower transmission costs, our homes will enjoy more reliable signal,” said Keizer Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Dan Clem. “Keizer just keeps getting faster and better thanks to innovators like Ziply Fiber. Glad to have you on board with us.”

Kevin is active in the Keizer area and enjoys building relationships with new partners in the area.

“We don't want our relationship with a city to begin months after we arrive,” he said. “We want it to start from day one.”
