Baseball has long been a part of Hillsboro's identity, but something bigger is on the horizon. For the first time in more than 30 years, a major new sports and entertainment venue is being built in the city—a project that will reshape how the community comes together. The new Hillsboro Ballpark is more than a stadium. It's designed as a gathering place for baseball fans, concertgoers, families and neighbors across the greater Portland metro. When its doors open in 2026, it will be the kind of venue that defines a city for generations.

Of course, great venues need great partners, and the Hillsboro Hops have tapped four organizations to help bring this vision to life. Ziply Fiber is honored to stand among the first founding partners, joining Hillsboro Medical Center, Maletis Beverage and NECA/IBEW Local 48. Together, this group represents a cross-section of businesses deeply invested in the future of the Northwest.

For Ziply Fiber, the partnership is personal. We live and work in the communities we serve, and Hillsboro is no exception. By investing in the new ballpark, we're doubling down on our belief that strong connections—on and off the field—are what keep communities thriving.

Every fan knows the magic of game day is about more than what happens between the bases. It's about the shared experience: taking a photo with friends, checking live stats, ordering food without missing a pitch or streaming highlights the moment they happen.

That's why Ziply Fiber is stepping up as the stadium's official fiber internet provider. Our 100% fiber network will power best-in-class WiFi throughout the new ballpark, giving fans seamless, ultra-fast connectivity every time they walk through the gates. With symmetrical speeds up to 50 Gig, the technological backbone of this stadium will be as modern and dynamic as the events it hosts.

Technology alone doesn't build community—it takes shared values and commitment. Both the Hops and Ziply Fiber believe in fostering connection, creating experiences and giving back to the people who make Hillsboro special.

Fireworks celebrating Hillsboro

"This is about more than connectivity," says Chris Gellos, Ziply Fiber's Vice President and General Manager. "It's about supporting the places where people gather, celebrate and create memories together. We're proud to invest in the future of Hillsboro and to be part of something that will serve families and fans for decades."

While Ziply Fiber's role is to keep the stadium connected, the project's success comes from collaboration. Each founding partner brings something vital: world-class healthcare from Hillsboro Medical Center, community spirit from Maletis Beverage and strong infrastructure from NECA/IBEW Local 48. Together, these contributions reflect the best of Pacific Northwest ingenuity and civic pride.

The result will be more than a ballpark. It will be a landmark achievement that shows what's possible when local businesses, community leaders and fans all pull in the same direction.

Construction is already well underway, with more than 70% of the project complete. The new Hillsboro Hops ballpark is on track to open in April 2026—just in time for the start of baseball season. Over the coming months, fans can look forward to announcements about season ticket sales, exciting Ziply Fiber-powered fan activations and new community programs tied to the partnership.

For now, anticipation is building. Soon, Hillsboro will have a ballpark worthy of its passion for sports and entertainment—and Ziply Fiber will be right there, helping every moment get shared, streamed and remembered.
