McCall’s first fiber-internet customers have been online since last October, but on May 22nd, the city and the Ziply Fiber team finally got to make it official with a ribbon cutting, after a hard winter freeze delayed the celebration. Now, with construction moving full steam ahead across the rest of the city, it felt like the right moment to mark the occasion properly.
It was a small ceremony with a big meaning. Fiber internet isn't just another cable line in the ground. It’s the infrastructure that lets a small mountain town keep pace with the rest of the world, without losing what makes it McCall. Remote workers streaming video calls from a home office. Local businesses running point-of-sale systems and marketing campaigns without a second thought. Students finishing homework without waiting on a spinning wheel. That's what this network is built for.
More than 4,500 homes and businesses across McCall are part of this build, with close to 1,500 addresses already able to sign up for service today. Construction continues over the coming months to bring fiber to the rest of the city.
Why McCall?
McCall joins a growing list of Northwest communities getting the Ziply Fiber treatment. The same end-to-end fiber network that's earned the company recognition as America's Fastest Home Internet provider. But every market is different, and McCall's mix of year-round residents, seasonal visitors and small businesses that depend on reliable connectivity made it a natural next step.
The ribbon cutting brought together city leaders, community members and the Ziply Fiber team to mark the occasion, a fitting way to kick off a project that's as much about the community as it is about the fiber-optic cable.
A local perspective
For Nicole Barnett, Ziply Fiber's Community Development Manager in McCall, the launch is personal. After all, she's the one working on the ground, building relationships with the city and its residents well before the first strand of fiber-optic cable goes in.

I regularly hear people say, you have no idea how much we need faster, more reliable internet. It always makes me smile because the truth is, I do. I understand exactly what that means, and that's what makes celebrating these launches so rewarding.”
What’s next
Construction crews will keep working through McCall over the coming weeks and months, reaching the remaining addresses in the build. Residents can check availability and sign up for updates at Ziply Fiber’s McCall page, and anyone who spots a construction issue can flag it directly through Ziply Fiber’s construction feedback form.
Where fiber is live, residents have access to speeds up to 50 Gig, symmetrical upload and download speeds and no data caps or contracts. Plus, new WiFi 7 routers on qualifying plans.
McCall now has the kind of internet infrastructure usually reserved for big cities. We just think it belongs here too.
