During power outages a battery backup keeps your Ziply Fiber Home Phone connected.
Note: The battery backup only connects your Ziply Fiber Home Phone service, not internet.
Charging status
On the power-supply unit connected to your battery backup, an illuminated green light indicates that it's receiving a charge.
Beeping battery backup
If your battery backup is intermittently beeping, follow these steps to determine if it needs to be replaced:
- Remove the cables connected to the battery backup.
- Unplug it from the power outlet.
- Wait 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
- If the battery backup starts beeping again, it means it's not charging properly and should be replaced at ziplydevices.com.
- If the battery backup has stopped beeping, firmly re-attach the cables.

Important 911 Information
It is your responsibility to maintain a battery backup for accessing 911 emergency services in the event of a power outage. If the battery is drained or missing, your voice service will not work if the power is out.
- When fully charged the backup unit powers your Ziply Fiber Home Phone service for up to eight hours during a power outage.
- If you have a home alarm or medical-monitoring system, check with your provider(s) to ensure compatibility with Ziply Fiber Home Phone VoIP service. If your home-alarm or medical-monitoring system is not compatible, consider adding a traditional phone line to support it.
