What internet speed should I choose?

This page offers guidance on what to expect from the speeds offered in Ziply Fiber’s residential plans: Fiber 100/100, Fiber 300/300, Fiber Gig and 2 Gig Fiber

What influences internet speed

No matter which plan you choose, it’s helpful to understand that the internet speed you experience depends on many variables, including the number of connected devices and smart devices, types of online activities, the number of simultaneous users, and dwelling size.

Comparing fiber internet plans

Fiber internet speeds are measured in megabits or gigabits per second (Mbps or Gbps). The higher the number, the faster your connection.

Here’s a simple breakdown of each option:

Fiber 100/100

100 Mbps Upload/Download

  • Best for: Light internet users, small households
  • Suitable for: Browsing the web, checking emails, standard streaming
  • Not ideal for: Heavy or HD streaming, large file uploads, multiple users working from home

Fiber 300/300

300 Mbps Upload/Download

  • Best for: Medium-sized households with multiple devices
  • Suitable for: HD streaming, video calls, online gaming, work-from-home setups
  • Not ideal for: Large families with multiple simultaneous heavy users

Fiber Gig

1,000 Mbps or 1 Gbps Upload/Download

  • Best for: Larger households or homes with multiple work-from-home setups
  • Suitable for: 4K streaming, multiple online gamers, large file transfers, smart home setups
  • Not ideal for: Very few users who don’t need high speeds

2 Gig Fiber

2,000 Mbps or 2 Gbps Upload/Download

  • Best for: Power users with high-demand needs, tech enthusiasts
  • Suitable for: Running a home office with multiple video calls, ultra-fast downloads, supporting many smart devices
  • Not ideal for: Basic browsing and streaming

Which one is right for you?

  • If you live alone or with one other person and use the internet mainly for emails, social media, and occasional streaming, Fiber 100/100 is sufficient.
  • If you have a small family or multiple devices running at the same time, Fiber 300/300 provides a smoother experience.
  • If your household has multiple gamers, streamers or remote workers Fiber Gig is a great choice.
  • If you need top-tier speeds for intensive tasks or a tech-heavy household, 2 Gig Fiber is an excellent fit.
