Every August, the Benton Franklin Fair in Kennewick brings the Tri-Cities together for a week of rides, rodeo action, local vendors and more. This year, from August 19—23, more than 120,000 people came through the gates—and Ziply Fiber was proud to be right in the middle of it all—for the third year running.
As the fair's official WiFi partner, we kept everyone connected: Attendees scrolling and sharing their favorite fair moments, vendor sales running smoothly, organizers keeping everything on track, first responders staying in touch and even rodeo competitors checking in before the big ride. "Connectivity is important to us," said Lindsey Madsen, Community Development Manager. "Because the fair brings people from all over the Northwest, we wanted to be a partner to provide that service so everyone could have a great experience."
Of course, we weren't just behind the scenes—we were also in the arena. Ziply Fiber was the primary rodeo sponsor, with cowboys sporting custom Ziply Fiber-branded shirts while they competed. And right at the entrance to the fair, our booth gave us a chance to meet folks face-to-face, share a few giveaways and talk about what fast, reliable fiber internet can do for their homes and businesses.
For us, it's about more than fiber internet—it's about being part of what makes local communities thrive. "I just think it brings the community together," Lindsey said. "The fair has all the fun rides and so many local vendors, the 4-H group is there, there's farmers and all the animals—it's just a really great community event."
Three years in, and we couldn't be prouder to help make sure one of the Tri-Cities' biggest events runs on more than food and fun—it runs on a reliable connection, too.
