On May 1, 2020, in the midst of a pandemic, we launched Ziply Fiber with the vision of simplifying and elevating the connected lives of our customers across the Northwest.

We took a legacy telecommunications network and started transforming it into a state-of-the-art fiber-optic network. That was 4 years ago.

Look how far we’ve come!

As of 2023, we’d built out nearly 2,000 new fiber miles and brought connectivity to hundreds of new markets, in both small towns with historically limited access to fast, reliable internet to larger metros who’ve been waiting for a cable alternative.

Last year, we rolled out the fastest home internet in the Northwest with 10 Gig service, and a few months later, in October 2023, we announced our 50 Gig speed tier, making us the fastest residential ISP in the country. We can’t overstate what a huge accomplishment it is to go from launch to fastest in the country in just four years. In the words of CNET (and Spaceballs), “With the launch of its 50-gig service, Ziply Fiber became America’s undisputed leader as the fastest home internet provider...To borrow a phrase, that’s ludicrous speed.”

While we were busy lighting up 50 Gig, we also welcomed several smaller regional telecommunications providers to Ziply Fiber: EONI, iFiber and Ptera. With these new partners, we’ll be able to continue building out our network to reach more communities throughout Oregon and Washington. Welcome, new team members and customers!

At the end of the day, what is connectivity really about? It’s about connecting to friends and family, to our local businesses, and to our communities. That’s why we see our network as more than a system of fiber lines, but as a web of communication bringing us all together.

For the second year in a row, we sponsored holiday toy drives in Oregon, Washington and Idaho. Our community development managers have worked tirelessly to represent Ziply Fiber as a sponsor for numerous charity and community events, like the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Radiothon, Kootenai County’s Walk for Autism Acceptance, the Everett Senior Expo, Hillsboro's Latin American Food Fest, the Montana East-West Shriner Game — and so many more.

Our efforts building an ultra-fast, reliable network combined with our community engagement has been rewarded with local recognition. Already in 2024, we’re proud to share that we won Post Falls, ID, large business of the year award and were named Best Internet Provider in North Idaho.

We’re proud of how much we’ve grown in these four short years, and we have so much more to do to continue bringing fast, reliable fiber-optic internet to more cities and towns throughout the Northwest. You could say we’re now heading toward our five-year anniversary at the speed of light.
