Ziply® Fiber announces construction has begun for new multi-gig fiber internet service network upgrade in Turner, Oregon

Kirkland, Washington (March 31, 2023) – Ziply® Fiber today confirmed that construction has begun on its previously-announced project to upgrade its existing network infrastructure in Turner, Oregon to an ultra-high-speed, 100 percent fiber-optic network. When upgrade work is complete, homes and businesses throughout most of Turner will have the ability to connect to Ziply Fiber’s new fiber-optic network and access Ziply’s popular “Gig-speed” service and its industry-leading 2-gig and 5-gig residential services.

With multi-gig services available, this project will make Ziply Fiber the fastest internet provider in the city, and also transform Turner into one of the fastest cities in the nation for household internet speeds, on par with, if not faster than, most major metropolitan areas.

What to Expect During Ziply Fiber Construction

Construction has already begun in some parts of the city, and network design and permitting are well underway in other areas. Residents will see trucks and crews begin to run fiber aerially between telephone poles and underground in some areas. The network construction will take several months to complete and will include the installation of network equipment that will house the infrastructure needed to run and manage the network. The company expects to connect its first sets of customers to its ultra-fast fiber network later this Spring.
