Gold Beach to become Oregon’s newest “Multi-Gig City” thanks to launch of Ziply™ Fiber’s ultra-high-speed fiber-optic internet network
Official Ribbon Cutting/Fiber Launch event scheduled for Saturday, April 2
Residents now have access to 5-gig, 2-gig and Gig-speed internet and phone services; specialized small business services also available
Kirkland, Wash. (March 31, 2022) – Ziply™ Fiber announced today that its ultra-high-speed, 100-percent fiber-optic network is now ready for service in Gold Beach, Oregon, enabling its popular “Gig-speed,” or Gigabit fiber internet, and its industry leading 5-gig and 2-gig residential services to more than 1,600 residences and businesses throughout the city starting today, with hundreds more on the way. Last year, the company announced plans to bring its 1-Gig service to town, but with its recent introduction of multi-gig services in the Northwest, this launch makes Gold Beach one of the fastest cities in the nation when it comes to household internet speeds, on par with if not faster than most major metropolitan areas.
A Fiber Launch event is scheduled for this coming Saturday, April 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Gold Beach Events Center, with an official Ribbon Cutting at 1 p.m., where Mayor Tamie Kaufman, members of Gold Beach Main Street, and representatives from Ziply Fiber will be on hand to introduce the company’s new service offering and what it means for the residents and businesses of Gold Beach.
"The City of Gold Beach is thankful to have incredibly fast multi-gig fiber data available to a high number of its residents and businesses. We have learned that internet connection can make or break us as a community,” said Mayor Kaufman. “It is assuring to have learned that Ziply Fiber as a ‘telephone company' shares its physical wires with other providers. That creates less waste in the environment and allows for more partnerships and a greater visual landscape. Today is an exciting time to have a company make such a large investment in our community."
In total, more than 1,800 addresses will have access to Ziply Fiber’s fiber optic network when network construction is complete. This service launch is one piece of how Ziply Fiber is working to bridge the digital divide that exists between large metro areas and many suburbs and rural communities.
Ziply Fiber’s announcement comes at a time when more and more families and businesses need high-capacity internet to support the online needs of daily life in today’s world. Ziply Fiber's blazingly-fast service requires no annual contracts and no data caps for residential users.
“The city of Gold Beach is a fantastic community, and we are so proud to bring them our fast, reliable internet connectivity,” said Harold Zeitz, CEO of Ziply Fiber. “The people who live and work here are exactly who our mission is all about – building the fastest, most advanced internet network available in the Northwest, especially to the places that need it the most, the smaller towns and communities who have often been passed over by other providers. Today we changed that for good.”
New and existing customers who wish to check their address for fiber availability, or who would like to sign-up to be alerted when fiber internet is available at their home or business, can register at When fiber is shown as available at their address, Ziply’s existing DSL customers can upgrade by calling 1-866-699-4759.
Ziply Fiber also participates in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), an FCC benefit program that allows qualified people to receive free or reduced-cost monthly internet service. To determine your eligibility and sign up for ACP, please visit https://acpbenefit.org.
Ziply Fiber’s goal is always to leave an area in a condition as good if not better than before construction began. If residents notice something has been missed, the company wants to know about it and asks that details be shared at https://ziplyfiber.com/constructioncleanup.
The work in Gold Beach is part of Ziply Fiber’s commitment to invest more than $500 million over the next two to three years to build an advanced, 100-percent fiber network to both suburban and rural communities across the Northwest that have been underserved when it comes to internet access. The company has been actively building fiber across the Northwest since June 2020 and has plans to build and deploy new fiber-optic cables, local hubs, new offices, and new hardware to run the network as part of hundreds of additional projects across its 250,000-square-mile footprint.
Ziply Fiber’s primary service offerings are Fiber Internet and phone for residential customers, Business Fiber Internet and Ziply Voice services for small businesses, and a variety of Internet, networking, and voice solutions for enterprise customers. The company will continue to support Ziply Internet (DSL) customers and its TV customers in Washington and Oregon. A full listing of products and services can be found at ziplyfiber.com.
